XZ mailing lists

The XZ related mailing lists are described below. Note that you are welcome to also use IRC (#tukaani on Freenode) or email Lasse Collin directly. See contact information for details.

There is also a forum for XZ Utils and LZMA Utils on Sourceforge. Depending on how popular the xz-devel mailing list becomes, the forum might get dropped in the future.

xz-devel

xz-devel is for general discussion about XZ Utils, XZ Embedded, XZ in Java, the .xz file format, LZMA Utils, and related topics.

Archives of the old posts are available in The Mail Archive.

You can subscribe to the xz-devel mailing list by sending the line subscribe xz-devel in the message body (subject is ignored) to majordomo at tukaani dot org. You should then get an email that asks you to send another email to confirm the subscription. Majordomo should reply with Succeeded. If you have problems, make sure that there are no leading spaces on the "auth" line when replying to the first message (Majordomo is picky).

Unsubscribing is done by sending unsubscribe xz-devel in the message body to majordomo at tukaani dot org.

Subscribers can post to the list by sending email to xz-devel at tukaani dot org.

Notes:

xz-announce

xz-announce is for release announcements of XZ Utils. This is a very low volume list with only a couple of messages per year. Messages sent to this list are sent also to xz-devel, so there's no need to subscribe to both lists.

You can subscribe to the xz-announce mailing list by sending the line subscribe xz-announce in the message body (subject is ignored) to majordomo at tukaani dot org. You should then get an email that asks you to send another email to confirm the subscription. Unsubscribing is done by sending unsubscribe xz-announce in the message body.
